We work at a local level to improve life for residents. The focus is to build food security across society in all streams, with the focus being on increasing food security for urban residents.
NUGRIC provides lessons and training activities on areas of focus mainly agriculture and education. we aim to increase intake of students visiting our office for training
Mwengenye Lifestyle CBO mobilizes and sensitizes residents, women groups and youth groups as well as partner with schools and colleges on how to utilize the limited spaces they have in their homes to do urban farming.
Mwengenye Lifestyle CBO aims at creating a child friendly and sustainable enviromnment for Njiru residents. we also participate in nairobi monthly clean-ups. an initiative by Governor mike sonko.
Mwengenye Lifestyle CBO aims to transform urban livelihoods through ensuring food security goals are achieved by teaching residents on how to practice urban agriculture. The project is geared towards raising the value of urban farming to become a major force in the Nairobi Metropolitan socio-economic transformation drive. Additionaly we aim to improve on the following areas:
“During the formation of the CBO I was of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live.”
— John Mwangi, Chairperson ML cbo.
“When we started out to build the CBO we decided very earlier on in the project that the key to success would be the last ounce of effort that was going to push us to an amazing stat. So we started out working from our own background and being the best version of what we could be.”
— Dennis Kinyua, Head of ICT Department
“In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it and therefore We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us , we must thrive to make our backgrounds Eco-Friendly and sustainable. ”
— Lucky Juma, Head of Communications .
“Community service has taught me all kinds of skills and increased my confidence. You go out there and think on your feet, work with others and create something from nothing. That's what life's all about, Being of service to others is what brings true happiness.”
